About this Unit

This unit equips students to evaluate architectural problems and solutions in software engineering, and to develop highly extensible designs to help implement them. Students learn advanced design structures for multithreading in object oriented languages, the use of build systems for creating modular software, the design and implementation of application programming interfaces (APIs), plugin systems and domain-specific languages (DSLs) for fostering communities of developers, and approaches to internationalisation (I18N) to create globally-relevant software.
