About this Unit

This unit examines the importance of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and quality practices in the Australian construction industry and internationally, with a focus on quality assurance throughout all project phases, from conceptualisation to handover to the clients. Principles of implementing and applying best practice will be discussed in relation to global quality management theories in conjunction with real-world corporate and project case studies. The complex relationships between quality and the various aspects of design and construction activities will also be discussed. The risks associated with various construction methodologies will be reviewed to identify key considerations for the selection and implementation of appropriate environmental health and safety practices on construction sites.
