About this Unit

This unit introduces students to different spatial typologies and explores the relationship between site and people. A hypothetical client is introduced to inform the formulation of a design brief and the idea of tailoring a design solution to an individual person, within a residential typology. The design proposition focuses on understanding spatial typologies and applying this knowledge to the design of a small building and its interior in a given setting. Work integrated learning is incorporated through simulated studio processes focused on investigation of spatial typologies in a real site, and interaction with community, climate and environment.
